Episode 64: Choosing How We Dance, with Dalya Shaw

Ep 64 Dalya Shaw

In 2017 Dalya was faced with every parent's worst nightmare in the sudden and devastating loss of her only child Ben at the age of 15.

Through her lived experience, she has become a passionate advocate of helping young people cope with grief and actively continues to support teens, adults, and other parents who have experienced loss.

In this episode, Dalya and I talk about:

  • Her connection to Ben’s friends and what she’s learned about how teenagers navigate grief
  • How grief looks for Dalya at Christmas time and how she’s chosen to approach the festive season, and
  • How Dalya finds joy, looks after herself and chooses to live a good life, even in the midst of grief and loss

In recent years Dalya has built her own business incorporating her love of content writing and motivational speaking. She has a strong focus on Love, Loss, Choice & Change.

A skilled communicator, Dalya is dedicated to writing engaging content for businesses, and uplifting and empowering her audience by teaching the importance of facing adversity to build strength and resilience.

You can find Dalya via her website, where she writes regularly on her blog: https://www.dalyashaw.com.au/ She is also on Facebook and LinkedIn
