Rachel Noble is an Australian writer, who has previously written, edited and produced for the ABC and BBC. Her first children's picture book, the magnificent Finn's Feather, was released in 2018, and I loved being able to meet Rachel in person at the Brisbane Writers Festival that year.
Rachel is also a Mum to five children - four in her home and one in her heart - so we are connected as bereaved parents. In this conversation, we talk about how Rachel and her family have navigated grief over the past 8 years since the death of their fourth child, Hamish, in a tragic accident.
We also discuss welcoming their new baby boy into the family after Hamish died, the story of birthing Rachel’s picture book into the world, and the new promise Rachel has made moving forward with relation to her grief.
