After some very busy weeks, and more to come, we are relishing in a long weekend spent mostly at home, catching up on some well-needed backyard and family time. There haveĀ been many hoursĀ spent in pyjamas, some cooking, playing, gardening and general lazing around, which is always good for the soul.
This week, Ben set me theĀ additional challenge of taking my 52 Project shots with a wide angle lens. Suffice to say, it’s not second nature to me and will need some continued practise, but it’s fun to experiment.
nicholas: You are embracing your cheeky two-year-old nature with all your might. We recently turned around to see you sitting precariously on the edge of your high chair tray, so needless to say we are a little more conscientious about doing up that strap now. You may not be walking yet, but it doesn’t stop you from playing with the big kids and I’m always impressed with how well you hold your own.
sam:Ā It’s hard to believe our biggest boy is almost six – only one week until your birthday, which you are very excited about. This week, you have discovered that you can write phoenetically (and we understand most of what you have written) so we often wake up to beautiful letters and drawings from you. It is so beautiful to watch you learn and see your joy at developing new skills.
charlie: After the arrival of the new bunk beds and a few nights of you and Sam being far too excited to go to bed, we are enjoying you settling more easily and sleeping better than you have in a long time.Ā Perhaps it’s that wintery weatherĀ that suits you snuggling into your cave-like bottom bed. You seem to be growing before my eyes and I know it won’t be too long before I’m sending another big boy off to school.Ā
Joining in the 52 Project at Practising SimplicityĀ ~Ā a portrait of each of my boys every week in 2014.
Oooh, I was wondering what lens you were using! Very cool.
I can’t stand how gorgeous these three are. Total dreamboats.
xx
Knowing what an expert you are on dreamboat children, I am chuffed you think so – thank you. The lens is pretty cool – bit different for conservative little old me, but good fun to try something new x
